Jef van den Houte is a self taught and experienced photographer for more than 30 years.
He gained his knowledge through contacts with other photographers, reading books and visiting exhibitions. But mostly through submitting his work to critics by others.
In the meantime, he became a well known architectural photographer in Belgium .
To further improve his knowledge he has studied for 3 years digital imaging and creativity at the Antwerp Academy of Arts.
The photos of Jef van den Houte have been exhibited all over the world in FIAP / PSA exhibitions . His awards include numerous prizes in those competitions, including the prestigous Trierenberg Circuit.
His work has been featured in several photo books.
His motto for creating a good photo is : “Good photography is not “what†you see, but “how†you seeâ€.
The challenge is to make an even often photographed motif surprising
He tries to apply this in his own architectural work: rendering it in his own personal way (an other view, a detail, special processing).
His professional background lies in the Graphics Division at Agfa. in several marketing and customer support functions.
